6. E – Commerce Website PHP Tutorial – Store Inventory Continued

www.developphp.com In this 6th video we will continue creating the Inventory management functionality in the Admin area. Editing existing products and deleting things made easy. The E – Commerce Web Site we will be assembling is one in which all of the inventory is in a MySQL database and we offer a custom PHP cart for a unique shopping experience. It is a site that handles sales, customers, and inventory.

  • But there is one problem, maybe you can fix it:

    1. When you introduce objects to tje inventory, they aquiere an id (1. 2, 3….).
    2. But when you delete for example Number 1, it changes and says 2, 3, 4… And the number 1 is errased (never returns to the table until you truncate it). And it looks bad…

Thank you for the tutorial, and I know that you can help us!

  • Hey Adam,

You make it look so easy…. Thanks for the great tut’s. I was needing a CMS for my site and followed the CMS tut and just when I was finishing it you start this one. I can’t tell you how happy I am for the timing. I have one request and it is probably a real newbie question and you have probably covered it in one of your other tut’s but how about showing how to include more than one image file. I really need to have a couple of images of my products. Just a suggestion. THANKS!

  • Adam,

Thank you so much, I took the weekend off but I am right back to all this. I have followed everything so far and will watch the vids several times so I can understand everything. Will it be possible for me to have a retail and a wholesale price schedule so I can sell to venders as well as the general public ?

I look forward to your future tutorials.

    Thank you,

    Eric

  • Hey Adam,

Thank you so much for these current 6 tutorials that you gave to us with such speed. I was wondering, however, when you would be continuing this series for I am anxious to learn more. 🙂

    Thank You

  • @shayat123456 Adam stated in the first video that he would not upload the source code until after the tutorial series is finished. We still have a few more lesions before completion.

  • If possible to fix the id order? I mean in this video Adam id # 2 is missing.
Because he deleted that id product before. So when you add a new product the auto increment id will be 3 instead of 2 (deleted).
I know how to do that manually in PHPMYADMIN:
    ALTER TABLE tablename AUTO_INCREMENT= 1

But how do you put that in the code? please help

  • Why is it when I tried to make changes to my products, I get sent back to inventory_edit.php and then my fields have undefined variables? It’s supposed to send me back to inventory_list.php, no?

    Needs assistance please.
    Thanks

  • Hey. Really enjoying these tutorials but I have an error I can’t shake.
After submitting “makes changes” I get an error:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (the indicated line is the header in the parse new products php)

Can anyone suggest a solution? I’ve been over the code so many times. Is there source code anywhere for this? It would save so much time

    Thanks 🙂

  • @profiterlolz Sorted this out – I think it was to do with an extra exit(); exiting the PHP too soon.

Still… could anyone tell me if Adam has released the source code?
    Cheers

  • Adams saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars.. Im building my own business and i would be up the creek without a paddle online if it wasn’t 4 developphp!!
