  • What about tracking? Can you add stats: popular item; items sold this day / week / month / annually; items sold normally this time each year; popular page [ which item do people look at the most].

    I figure since you are using php and using a database that you can generate reports quite easily.

Hes even said in this series that for other stuff u need to do it urself. And use it other tuts if needed…its not that hard…hell its common sense to look at his other tuts of those topics

  • My PayPal button is not showing up. I think it may be because I am still just testing on my localhost and have not uploaded to a web host yet. I also have not created a paypal cancel page yet. I just want to make sure I have not made a major error somewhere. Is this normal? Thanks!

  • Ok, so instead of downloading the code, I have been coding along with the video (helping me learn a little) and I have this error on my cart.php page: Undefined variable: pp_checkout_btn in/blah/blah/blah. Below is the is the variable that is initiated throughout the PAYPAL validation scripts:

    $pp_checkout_btn .= ”;

    is there something wrong here?

  • @femiosewa Are you developing/testing on a windows server? the money_format() function is not supported on a windows platform. I had the same issue, and resorted to formatting currency using number_format() instead.

  • Awesome tutorial, I have following from lesson 1. One question, Is there a way of testing the PayPal functionality without any transactions taking place? So you know it’s working?

  • @kizzel77 – Holy shit OK! You go to Paypal and login to account… hover mouse over “Profile”(last link in the second top menu under the main menu)… then click More Options in that drop down… then look on the left menu on that page and click “My Selling Tools”… then update the section named “Custom payment pages”. Header image is what you want to apply… make one and load it on your site server and give paypal the link to it and they apply it. You now owe me what you promised!
